Positions
The Positions within the Hold are split into two parts. The Hold Positions and Warrior Ranks. Someone can apply for a hold position and also be a Warrior or they can choose to be just a civilian taking a position within the hold or just a warrior.
Below are the roles within the Hold and a brief description of their responsibilities.
Hold Positions
Queen’s Adviser- Personal adviser to the queen. Normally picked because of their level headed thoughts, and ability to see the entire situation clearly.
Lady in waiting- Assistant to the queen, follows her around throughout most of her daily tasks.
Manservants- Male Servant usually who tends to as serve a certain individual.
Court Physician- The healer that those within the castle visit when they need medical attention.
Physician apprentice- The apprentice studying under the Physician, basically the one who lugs around the physician's things and gets experience in return.
Blacksmith- Those who craft the weapons and tools of the hold.
Teacher- Anyone who educates those in some type of field.
Servant in the Court- Servants made to assist the court in anything they need done.
Cook- Chefs that prepare the meals to satisfy the hungry warriors and royalty alike.
Page- Those who find themselves handy with a quill and willing to document events.
Shadowhunters- Those hungry for the secrets that lurk within the walls of the hold. They report back to the queen on the rumors spreading about.
Spies - Deep cover agents that slide into different areas and gather as much intelligence as they can.
Scouts - Those who scout out the areas around the Hold to keep watch for enemies as well as keep the Queen updated on changes within the area.
High Mage - Mage who has been appointed to help other magic users within the hold to develop their abilities.
Nobles - Members of the Court and other members of wealth.
Hunters - Those who know the woods and land around the Hold, they spend most their time hunting to supply meat and food for those in the Hold.
Messenger - A person trusted with developing communications between The Queen and her allies.
Warrior Ranks
New blood - Newest members in the army, first title you get at boot camp.
These fresh soldiers are treated rather horribly during training. It’s meant to break you down, and build you up stronger. You have no authority, and you must do what any commanding officer tells you.
Tenderfoot- Fresh out of bootcamp, and into the lowest rank.
You may have passed bootcamp, but you are still a hatchling in the world of warriors.
You are treated much better, but listening to those above you might be a wise choice.
Thegn- Has gone through their first few battles.
Now you know what the thrill of battle is like. You know a few tricks and you know the importance of loyalty and brotherhood.
Marauder- Common foot soldier.
Now you have officially seeped into the ranks, you are no longer considered new. You are one of the many soldiers in the masses that make up the ranks.
Valkyrie/Berserker- Highly experienced warriors.(Leaders)
These warriors have proven themselves in battle, and take charge within conflict. Their word is law on the battlefield for anyone beneath them. Out of conflict they hold a little less sway.
Vanir- Veteran warriors who are unwilling to train others.(Been through war.)
These war torn veterans, have long since moved from the normal ranks, and joined up within the castle guard. These warriors are not your battle ready soldier. They are the toughest and meanest around who know their way in and out of a fight.
Aesir- Veteran warriors willing to train others. (Been through war.)
These Veteran warriors took their time within the military seriously, and started devoting their life to training other soldiers to be the very best they can be. These are wise and strong warriors whose deeds grant them the right to teach.
Sentinel- Queen’s guard (Elite warriors asked to join in service of protecting the keep.)
These troops are the best of the best, called on by their superiors to protect the hold with their very lives. They are highly respected, and any soldier strives to reach this position.
Merkis- Commander (Title given by the High King/Queen)
This title is given to the best military mind who is capable of directing troops on a regional scale. They are proud warriors, but prefer to work with their minds.
Hersir- Reigning General. (Title given by the High King/Queen)
This is the most powerful man under the employ of the military. He oversees all operations no matter how small of secretive they may be. They oversee the entire war, making sure they know all about which troops need to go where and witch Commander would be best in what situation. His word is the absolute law within the ranks.
Champion of Veridian- Strongest warrior (Title given by the High King/Queen)
This warrior has proven himself to be the very best of the best. They takes orders directly from the king or queen. But for the most part they are free from any other ruling force. They are heavily respected and when he speaks most will listen to what he has to say. In some cases, he can overrule the General's orders.
High King/Queen- Ruler of the Hold.- Self-explanatory. You listen to this person more than anyone else. You would sacrifice yourself if they gave the word. They are the only one that matters in the large scale of things. If they go down, you have failed your mission.
