The Veridian bloodline has resided within the frosted peaks of Mount Barrick and controlled the large mines of iron that were found deep within the stone of the mountain for centuries. They have become known as fierce warriors by those in the surrounding areas, many great fighters and champions hailing from within the stone walls of the mountain hold. The people within the hold were sturdy creatures, almost breed for battle due to years of muscled genes passing through. With the cold climate the weak were unlikely to survive, so they adapted to become strong.

The rulers of these proud people, were the Veridian family line. The king, Alacor, and his queen, Meldiriel, kept the hold running smoothly throughout their years. No matter what kind of threat stepped forward, they crushed it without mercy, and continued to prosper. Slowly they started to birth children, and before they knew it they had four sons and two daughters. The king and queen kept a watchful eye over their children, looking for those who carried the gifts passed on through blood. At first they thought the gifts had skipped well over their children's generation. But finally, one of the gifts started to peek through within their very youngest. It started when she brought up to her father that she had seen something with her “sight”. This warning saved his life when he choose to believe her and toughen his armor. From then on he believed almost every word she said, and she chose to be rather honest with him except when she was running off. Later on she warned him of a wild elf that was pushing his way towards the keep. He was lined up to be the new champion within her vision, so she went out and brought him in. He was unable to speak properly, but his body was built with strong muscles from living within the wild. His senses were off the charts, and most of the newer recruits had trouble keeping up with him. Despite being 10 years to young, he was allowed to train so long as he learned how to read write and speak during this time. Almost instantly the ones training
Sylvar found it hard to avoid his powerful hits and quick feet. During spars he would even catch them off guard with just his physical prowess. When he brought in different skills, he quickly started to burn a winning streak within the sparring fields. The king kept an eye on this recruit, but he turned his attentions to the ominous signs given by his wife. She was getting visions of an undead army that marched over their keep during the first break of day at the turn of the new year. They prepped for this day, training their men, and even appointing Sylvar as the champion of the keep for his deeds within battle, as well as keeping his youngest daughter safe. The day before the battle, he warned all of his men to get a good night sleep and be ready to be up early to fend off this enemy.
But to their surprise, his wife's vision was wrong on so many levels. The enemy threw themselves at the keep in the middle of the night waking every man and woman from their slumber. At first they were taken back and found a hard time sticking to their training. But they quickly followed the king and his sons into battle with some help from Sylvar who they learned to respect. The king had ordered his wife and his daughters away from here, but his youngest snuck into the battle. This was probably a good thing since a devious betrayal struck. The queen and her oldest daughter were cut down ruthlessly due to being lead the wrong way out. Within this horrid battle the king, and all of his sons were cut down by the black army. Luckily, Sylvar noticed the last heir amongst the conflict, and stuck by her side to keep her safe from any harm. With one last rallying cry behind Sylvar, they pushed the threat out of the hold and sent them packing back.

The day after the attack, Sylvar vanished from the keep, with only a letter describing his intentions. But aside from that, the farthest heir to the throne was brought into power. It was rough at first and she found a hard time coping. But Kariliea kept her chin up, and pushed through all of the formalities. Her first order of business was weeding out the weasel that had betrayed the royal family. Once the pest was dealt with, she pushed on forward, trying to put the hold back on it’s feet after the great loss of power from the attack. As the ten year anniversary of the betrayal and death of the majority of the Veridian Family, the hold once again is plagued by news of undead hordes rising and the whispers from the south talk of the undead which are moving through their lands.
